In 2000 BrainX was officially founded and produced client installed coursework. In 2004, neurobiological research was incorporated into the system's design for increased learning retention. The BrainX Digital Tutoring Suite was launched in the fourth quarter of 2005. In 2007, BrainX was named "Online Learning System of the Year" by the National Tutors Association. The BrainX research facility and main offices are located on the campus of California State University at Channel Islands, located in Camarillo, CA.
